Helpful Hints For Busy Times

For many of us there just simply aren’t enough hours in the day, but this is the time of year when time is really at a premium. Here are some helpful hints for getting dinner on the table fast

  • Rotisserie chicken and leftover cooked turkey cut cooking and prep time dramatically. Pick one or two up at the store (especially if they’re on sale!) then remove the meat from the bones to use in a favorite casserole for that night’s dinner. (A two- to three-pound chicken will yield about four cups of shredded meat.) Chill or freeze any remaining meat in two-cup portions to have on hand to use in another meal.
  • Keep a well-stocked pantry with a variety of Campbell’s® Condensed soups on hand. There many recipes that call for five ingredients or less, and if your pantry is ready to go, these dishes can be pulled together in no time. And don’t forget that if you don’t happen to have Cream of Mushroom soup, Cream of Chicken or Cream of Celery can be substituted instead.
  • Spend an hour on the weekend planning dinners for the week to come then make one trip to the grocery store. If you can, prep chopped vegetables, like onion and bell peppers, and store in labeled containers in the fridge to shave off cooking time later in the week. Try these recipes for this easy tip!
  • Leftovers are a fact of life during this time of year. Breathe new life into leftover turkey, chicken, roast beef or pork by combining them with a favorite frozen vegetable blend and any of Campbell’s® Condensed Cream or Cheese soups. Heat the mixture in a saucepan until piping hot, stirring in some milk or broth to thin if needed. Serve over egg noodles, cooked rice or warm split biscuits for a satisfying supper that’s on the table in a flash.
