How to Make It

Step 1

Heat the broiler.  Spray a broiler pan with vegetable cooking spray.

Step 2

Thoroughly mix the turkey, apple, green onions, lemon pepper, salt and apple pie spice in a medium bowl.  Shape the turkey mixture into 4 (3/4-inch thick) burgers.

Step 3

Broil the burgers 6 inches from the heat for 10 minutes or until cooked through, turning them over once halfway through the broiling time.

Step 4

Heat the chili sauce and jelly in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat until the mixture is hot and bubbling, stirring occasionally.

Step 5

Top the burgers with the chili sauce mixture.  Serve the burgers on the buns.

Recipe Tips

  • Make-Ahead: The turkey mixture and chili sauce mixture can be prepared a day in advance and refrigerated, tightly covered.  Broil the burgers and reheat the sauce just before serving.

    Healthy & Tasty

This recipe was easy to make and it tasted delicious. I got lazy when it was time to make the sauce and opted to use apple butter on the roll. The flavors mixed so well we eat it this way every time.

This recipe was incredible. My fiance and I both loved it and I really liked the creative way of getting some fruit and vegetables into our diets. This is going to become a regular at our house.

    Apple-Kissed Turkey Burgers

These burgers are a nice alternative to the traditional hamburger. The left over sauce tastes good on chicken or any other types of meat.
