What a great idea...toasted bagels make a great base for this easy to make tomato-basil bruschetta topping.

    teaspoons olive oil

  • 1

    bagel Pepperidge Farm® 100% Whole Wheat Bagels, split

  • 1

    clove garlic, cut in half

  • 1

    tomato, diced

  • 1

    tablespoon chopped fresh basil leaves

  • 1

    dash Freshly ground black pepper

How to Make It

Step 1

Brush the oil on the cut sides of the bagel halves.

Step 2

Heat the broiler.  Broil, cut-side up, for 2 minutes or until the bagel halves are toasted.  Rub the garlic on the cut sides of the bagel halves.

Step 3

Stir the tomato and basil in a small bowl.  Season with the black pepper.  Divide the tomato mixture between the bagel halves.

    Bagel Bruschetta

    This is awesome. I do like to spread some chevre and or cream cheese on the olive oil toasted bagel and I do like avacado as one of the topings with a splash of balsamic vinegar.

    Bagel Bruschetta

    I used Italian dressing instead of olive oil and I used cottage chease under the tomatoes... IT WAS!!!
