Recipe Tips

  • Ingredient Note: We develop our recipes using a 4-to 5-ounce skinless, boneless chicken breast half per serving. However, there are a range of sizes available in-store, from the butcher counter to the meat case and the freezer section. Use whichever you prefer- just follow the recipe as written above for the best result. If you're using larger chicken breasts they may require a little longer cooking time.

    Amazing easy meal!

This recipe is great! It's so simple to put together and is perfect! As long as you use the correct size pan and cover the dish while baking there shouldn't be any issues with rice needing more time to cook. I usually use season salt on the chicken instead of paprika and a little salt and pepper on the rice and I throw frozen mixed veggies instead of broccoli. So good!

    Actually really hood

I made this and added a chicken boullion cube to the water and soup mixture as well as some cubes of Colby jack cheese to the rice and then topped with cheddar cheese. I also added garlic powder to the chicken breast too It was delicious!

    This recipe was not tested

I followed the directions explicitly. The rice was raw. The broccoli was under done and the chicken was rubbery and overcooked. It would be better to prepare each ingredient separately and combine them at the end. The taste is good.

This is why you ABSOLUTELY MUST cover the dish while it cooks. I suggest SECURELY covering the dish with aluminum foil. If the rice is thereby steamed, the food comes out cooked properly & is very tasty. Seasoning? I suggest sage, or if you're adventurous, chili pepper. If the dish is NOT covered properly while cooking, the water boils away & the rice remains hard in a sticky mass.

Don't waste your time, rice doesn't cook

I usually love Campbell's recipes, however with this one i was very disappointed. It was easy to put together, but the rice never cooked. 45 minutes as the recipe states, and the rice was still very hard. To the point of no one wants to eat it hard. I baked it for longer and it still did not cook. Rice stayed hard and gross. Not sure what is wrong with this recipe but I thought it would be really good. Instead, I was scrambling, trying to figure out how to make a dinner for my family for the night after this was a complete disaster. Would NOT make this again.
