Cubes of Italian or French bread are soaked in a cheesy custard and baked until hot and puffy for a brunch or casual supper dish.

    can (10 1/2ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed Cheddar Cheese Soup

  • 1

    cup milk

  • 4

    egg

  • 1 1/2

    cups shredded Swiss cheese (about 6 ounces)

How to Make It

Place the bread cubes into a greased 2-quart shallow baking dish.  Beat the soup, milk, eggs and cheese in a medium bowl with a fork or whisk.  Pour the soup mixture over the bread cubes.  Stir and press the bread cubes into the milk mixture to coat.  Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F. for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

    Cheddar-Swiss Strata

    I made something like this this morning using honey ham, whole wheat sourdough, and sharp cheddar cheese, my husband loved it. He added maple syrup to it almost ate the whole thing.

    I made this for a pitch-in at work today and everyone raved about how good it was! I doubled the recipe and added a pound of cooked sausage. Yum!!
