    can Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Asparagus Soup

  • 1/2

    cup reduced fat (2%) milk

  • 1/4

    teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/8

    teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 2 1/4

    cups rotini (spiral) pasta, cooked and drained

  • 1 1/2

    cups cubed boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked

  • 1 1/2

    cups cooked cut asparagus

  • 1

    cup shredded Cheddar cheese or Swiss cheese (about 4 ounces)

How to Make It

Step 1

Stir the soup, milk, onion powder and black pepper in a 2-quart shallow baking dish until the mixture is smooth. Stir in the pasta, chicken, asparagus and 1/2 cup cheese.

Step 2

Bake at 400°F. for 25 minutes or until the chicken mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the chicken mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

Step 3

Bake for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Recipe Tips

  • Easy Substitution: Substitute 2 cans (4.5 ounces each) Swanson® Premium White Chunk Chicken Breast in Water, drained, for the cooked chicken.

    Easy and Delicious

    I've been staring at those two cans of Cream of Asparagus soup in my pantry for the longest time and didn't even remember why I bought them. I Googled "what can i make with Cream of Asparagus" and got this recipe. Kroger's asparagus sale priced at !.99 per pound sealed the deal. There are five of us so I doubled the recipe. Delicious! Used a big can of cooked, cubed chicken I got from Sam's and browned it. We prefer the sharp cheddar cheese, so that's my only real sub. No left overs.

    Made some changes-creamy and delicious!!

    Used a box of rotini pasta, chicken that I pulled off of a store-bought rotisserie chicken and blanched chopped fresh asparagus. For the sauce, I was a little taken back with the slimy pieces of asparagus in the soup so I placed it, 1 cup of milk and the juices from the rotisserie chicken into my blender. I doubled the onion, the pepper and added some cayenne pepper to spice it up. I had some pre-shredded Kraft Italian cheese blend already and then added some grated Tillamook extra sharp aged cheddar cheese to it. I doubled the cheese because I had increased the amount of sauce. Turned out extremely well!! Served with a fresh salad and voila'….easy weeknight dinner that my children loved.

    Chicken Asparagus Gratin

    I made this last night for my family. It was awesome! I seasoned the chicken with McCormick Garlic Pepper Seasoning and browned it. I couldn't find Cream of Asparagus soup so I used Cream of Chicken

    Chicken Asparagus Gratin

    This was an amazing recipe. It was so easy to make and tasted great! we have made it with sausage instead of chicken and I also like to use cheddar with chipotle peppers for an added kick. Many times I find that recipes like this, lack flavor, but this was really one of my favorites. We also used whole wheat pasta. We like this recipe so much we serve it to company!

    Chicken Asparagus Gratin

    I browned my chicken first and deglazed my pan with the soup mixture. That added a lot of chicken flavor. I also used cheddar cheese and I liked the flavor.
