    cup Italian salad dressing

  • 1 3/4

     pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

  • 1

    can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Cheddar Cheese Soup

  • 1/2

    cup Pace® Chunky Salsa - Mild

  • 12

    flour tortilla, warmed

  • 4

    green onion, thinly sliced (about 1/2 cup)

  • 1

     small avocado, pitted, peeled and sliced

How to Make It

Step 1

Pour the dressing into a shallow, nonmetallic dish or gallon size resealable plastic bag. Add the chicken and turn to coat. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Remove the chicken from the marinade. Discard the marinade.

Step 2

Lightly oil the grill rack and heat the grill to medium.  Grill the chicken for 15 minutes or until cooked through, turning over once halfway through the grilling time.

Step 3

Heat the soup and salsa in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat until the mixture is hot and bubbling, stirring occasionally.

Step 4

Cut the chicken into thin strips. Divide the chicken among the tortillas.  Top with the soup mixture, onions and avocado, if desired.  Fold the tortillas around the filling.

Recipe Tips

  • Serving Suggestion: Serve with Mexican-style rice or refried beans.  For dessert serve lemon sherbet.
  • Ingredient Note: We develop our recipes using a 4-to 5-ounce skinless, boneless chicken breast half per serving. However, there are a range of sizes available in-store, from the butcher counter to the meat case and the freezer section. Use whichever you prefer- just follow the recipe as written above for the best result. If you're using larger chicken breasts they may require a little longer cooking time.

    Great building block

    I am not a fan of the flavor of italian seasoning, pairing with the flavors of cheddar & salsa. For the marinade, instead try 1/4 cup lemon, orange or lime juice, 1 TBSP chili powder, tsp cumin, 1 crushed clove of garlic, 1 TBSP olive oil, (2 tsp sugar or stevia if using lemon or lime only). Cook the chicken in the marinade, discard excess juices OR skip the cheese soup. Add grated cheese and fresh salsa to the wrap and drizzle with the pan drippings.

    Rub a little Old Bay seasoning on the raw chicken breasts before cooking.

    Chicken Fajitas

    I wasn't very thrilled with this dish. It smelled good cooking but the taste wasn't what I expected. I grilled some green pepper slices and canned mushrooms (Yeah! Now those were tastey!!) to go in them. I didn't use avacado or green onions and I didn't have a whole onion to slice up (though I wish I did). Also I used nacho cheese soup. I know I wont be making it again. You don't know until you try!

    Chicken Fajitas

    Grill sliced onions, red and green bell peppers. While the chicken, peppers and onions are still hot squirt them with a grilled lime.
