Easy Baked Chicken

4 6

Roast chicken is a comfort food classic and this version only takes 10 minutes of hands-on prep.  Coat the chicken with seasoned flour, then pour the gravy over and bake.  The gravy keeps the chicken moist during roasting, then blends with the drippings in the bottom of the pan, perfect for spooning over hot mashed potatoes!

Yes, you can definitely use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts. Thighs are smaller, so you may need to reduce the cooking time. Check for doneness after 45 minutes and add more time if needed until chicken is fully cooked through.

    Husband Liked It

I just got married and am still learning how to cook. This recipe was VERY easy and my hubby liked it. I thought it was OK. I'm not really big on thyme in recipies but it was good. I made a side of garlic mashed potatoes and green beens with it.

    Easy Baked Chicken

I suggest covering the dish with foil to prevent the gravy from drying out.

    Easy Baked Chicken

My family loved this. I didn't use store bought gravy, I made my own out of bacon and topped the chicken with bacon pieces.
