    cups Swanson® Chicken Broth or Swanson® Chicken Stock

  • 7

    ounces (1 package) dried fruit bitsor morsels

  • 1/4

    cup packed brown sugar

  • 1/4

    teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4

    teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crushed

  • 4

    bone-in chicken breast half

  • 1

    large sweet potato, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces

  • 1

    medium onion, cut into wedges

How to Make It

Heat 1 cup broth, fruit, brown sugar, garlic powder and rosemary in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat to a boil. Place the chicken, potato and onion into a roasting pan. Pour the broth mixture over the chicken and vegetables.  Cover the pan. Bake at 450°F. for 15 minutes. Uncover the pan.  Pour the remaining broth into the pan. Bake, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
Step 1

    Nothing special!

    When I read the recipe, I thought it really sounded good and the aroma was heavenly while it was cooking. However, upon tasting it, it lacked something. It was very plain. I used dried cranberries as my fruit and I followed the recipe exactly. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I thought it needed a little kick! Anyone out there have any ideas on how to give it a bit more punch?

    Absolutely DELICIOUS!

    Not too much prep time other than dicing the potato & onions. This is the BEST chicken I have ever had & wouldn't even mind paying for it out lol We eat a lot of chicken at home, casseroles & with potatoes, so NOT something I would choose when going out 'tho. Definitely a fav & easy recipe!

    Very tasty! I also used boneless skinless breasts instead of bone-in chicken. It came out good but I can see that the bone-in would add more flavor.
