I've made these "Heavenly sweet potatoes" recipe for the past two years and it's always a hit!!!! I add a layer of brown sugar on top of the potatoes before I put the marshmallows on. YUMMY!!!! Can't wait to make it again for Thanksgiving.

Making sweet potatoes for the family holiday´s every year falls to me to make them. I had to try this recipe because it is so easy to do. I will stick to my recipe after my upset family told me not to show up with any other recipe than mine, or do not show up at all! Their words! They were kidding for the most part. I agree with them. There is a HUGE difference in taste and texture of sweet potatoes that are boiled to the point of being pure mush, and the oven baked! I do not see why people buy them in a can when they are mostly tasteless mush. The only reason I can think of to make them this way is because you like marshmallows that help hide how bad they are. If they are baked, they have a 1000% better flavor and texture if you cook candy them all inside the oven. Most people only make them twice a year, so put a little more effort into them you will certainly be happier with the outcome. The only reason I gave it one star is because I had too.

Didn't have a mixer so mashed it... My family never liked sweet potatoes and it usually became leftovers that were never touched again.... This year, we had NO leftovers! I'm thinking of adding some crushed pineapple next year!
