Tomato juice, horseradish and Worcestershire sauce put a flavorful spin on a traditional meatloaf.  The topping of melted cheese makes this tasty dish even better.

    cup Campbell's® Tomato Juice

  • 2

    pounds ground beef

  • 1/2

    cup dry bread crumbs

  • 1

    egg, beaten

  • 1

    medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)

  • 2

    tablespoons prepared horseradish

  • 1

    tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/8

    teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 2

    slices process American cheese, cut in half (about 2 ounces)

How to Make It

Step 1

Thoroughly mix the tomato juice, beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, horseradish, if desired, Worcestershire and pepper in a large bowl. Shape the beef mixture firmly into an 8 x 4-inch loaf and place in a 3-quart shallow baking pan.

Step 2

Bake at 350°F. for 1 hour 10 minutes.

Step 3

Place the cheese on the meatloaf and bake for 5 minutes or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the cheese is melted. Let the meatloaf stand for 10 minutes before slicing.

  • Easy Substitution: You can also use V8® 100% Vegetable Juice for the tomato juice in this recipe.
