    clove garlic, minced

  • 1

    can (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed Vegetable Soup

  • 1

    can Campbell’s® Condensed Golden Mushroom Soup

  • 1

    tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 2

    cups water

  • 3

    tablespoons butter

  • 3/4

    cup milk

  • 2

    cups instant mashed potato flakes or buds

How to Make It

Step 1

Cook the beef and garlic in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is well browned, stirring often to separate meat.  Pour off any fat.

Step 2

Stir the beef, vegetable soup, 1/2 can mushroom soup and Worcestershire in a 3-quart shallow baking dish.

Step 3

Heat the remaining soup, water and butter in a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat to a boil.  Remove the saucepan from the heat.  Stir in the milk.  Slowly stir in the potatoes.  Spoon the potatoes over the beef mixture.

Step 4

Bake at 400°F. for 20 minutes or until the potatoes are lightly browned.

Recipe Tips

  • Easy Substitution: You may substitute 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained, for the vegetable soup.

    This was a miss for us

    I went by the reviews and substituted canned tomatoes (partially drained), some corn and some peas for the vegetable soup. I added more garlic, salt , pepper and crushed rosemary. Also added salt to the potatoes, and used a bit less milk. The potatoes were fine but the meat mixture itself was a soupy mess and still pretty bland. This one wasn't for us but you win some and lose some! :)

    wonderful taste

    This is a very good casserole. It has so much flavor & my husband loved it & has requested it on several occasions. It is easy to make & even the leftovers are good. I will be making this often.

    Great For a Picky Eater

    My 2 and a half year old loves this recipe. She's a huge fan of almost anything with mashed potatoes so this is a big hit with her. Another plus is that this is a very quick dish to make so when everyone's hungry, this is on the table in a jiffy.

    Sounds good

    Haven't tried this yet but plan to. It actually sounds like a version of Shepherd's Pie. Personally though, I'm going to delete the Worcestershire sauce. I don't like it in recipes like this.
