    can (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup or Campbell's® Condensed 98% Fat Free Cream of Mushroom Soup

  • 3/4

    cup water

  • 2 1/2

     pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (8 breast halves)

  • 2

    medium carrot, sliced (about 1 cup)

  • 1

    large onion, sliced (about 1 cup)

  • 1

    medium potato, thinly sliced (about 1 cup)

  • 1/4

    cup butter(1/2 stick)

How to Make It

Heat the oven to 450°F. Stir the soup and water in a medium bowl and set aside. Place 1 chicken breast half onto a sheet of aluminum foil (12x18 inches each). Season the chicken as desired. Spoon 1/4 cup soup mixture onto each chicken breast half. Evenly divide the carrots, onion, potato on top of the chicken and top each with 1/2 tablespoon butter. Fold 2 sides of foil together over the chicken and double fold, leaving room for the heat to circulate. Double fold the ends to seal the packet. Repeat with the remaining packets. Place the packets onto a baking sheet. Bake the packets for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Carefully open the packets to serve.
Step 1

Bake the packets for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Carefully open the packets to serve.

Recipe Tips

  • Alternate Preparation: The packets can also be grilled. Heat the grill to medium-high and assemble packets as directed. Place the packets on the grill rack. Close the grill and grill for 15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Ingredient Note: We develop our recipes using a 4-to 5-ounce skinless, boneless chicken breast half per serving. However, there are a range of sizes available in-store, from the butcher counter to the meat case and the freezer section. Use whichever you prefer- just follow the recipe as written above for the best result. If you're using larger chicken breasts they may require a little longer cooking time.

    Mushroom Chicken Packets

    Absolutely Fantastic!! My husband was born in 1940 and he was raised on meat and potatoes and can't stand chicken and I made this for him and he loved it.
