How to Make It

Beat the granulated sugar, shortening and eggs in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy.  Beat in the sour cream and 1/2 cup marmalade.
Reduce the speed to low.  Beat in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.  Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Heat the oven to 400° F.  Spray 2 baking sheets with vegetable cooking spray. Beat the confectioners' sugar, butter and remaining marmalade in a medium bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is smooth.  Beat in the orange juice as needed until frosting is desired consistency.
Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the baking sheets, making about 60. Bake for 8 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are lightly browned.  Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets on wire racks for 10 minutes.  Remove the cookies from the baking sheets and let cool completely on wire racks.  Spread the cookies with the frosting.
