     pound boneless beef sirloin steak, 3/4-inch thick, cut into 4 pieces

  • 1

    medium onion, cut in half and thinly sliced (about 1 cup)

How to Make It

Step 1

Heat half the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat.  Add the beef and cook for 10 minutes or until well browned on both sides.  Remove the beef from the skillet.  Pour off any fat.

Step 2

Reduce the heat to medium.  Heat the remaining oil in the skillet.  Add the onion and cook until tender, stirring occasionally.

Step 3

Stir the picante sauce in the skillet.  Return the beef to the skillet.  Cook the beef for 2 minutes for medium or until desired doneness.

  • Easy Substitution: You can substitute strip or rib steaks for the sirloin.

    Picante Beef Steaks with Sautéed Onions

    This was one of the easiest, yet most delicious recipes I have ever had! Make sure you use boneless sirloin and not a cheap cut, it makes all the difference! I cannot wait to make this again. I would give it 10 stars if I could, it was that good!
