    pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves and/or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

    tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 2

    medium green pepper, cut into 2-inch-long strips (about 3 cups)

    large onion, chopped (about 2 cups)

  • 2

    cloves garlic, minced or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1

    jar (24 ounces) Prego® Traditional Italian Sauce

How to Make It

Season the chicken as desired.  Heat the oil in a 6-quart stovetop pressure cooker over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until well browned, stirring often.  Stir in the peppers, onions, garlic and sauce. Close and lock the lid.  Bring to full pressure over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low.  Cook for 15 minutes. Do not open the cooker until the pressure has dropped.  Season to taste.
Step 1

Close and lock the lid.  Bring to full pressure over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low.  Cook for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Do not open the cooker until the pressure has dropped.  Season to taste.

  • Ingredient Note: We develop our recipes using a 4-to 5-ounce skinless, boneless chicken breast half per serving. However, there are a range of sizes available in-store, from the butcher counter to the meat case and the freezer section. Use whichever you prefer- just follow the recipe as written above for the best result. If you're using larger chicken breasts they may require a little longer cooking time.
  • Serving Suggestion: Serve the chicken mixture over hot cooked spaghetti.
