    pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

  • 4

    slices Swiss cheese or provolone cheese

  • 1/2

    cup dry sherry or vermouth or any dry white wine

  • 1

    cup sliced fresh mushrooms or 1 can (8 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained

  • 1

    can Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup or Campbell's® Condensed 98% Fat Free Cream of Mushroom Soup

  • 1

    cup seasoned croutons

  • 3

    tablespoons butter, cut-up

How to Make It

Step 1

Heat the oven to 350°F.

Step 2

Place the chicken into a 2-quart shallow baking dish.  Top each chicken breast with 1 cheese slice.  Stir the sherry, mushrooms, if desired, and soup in a medium bowl.  Pour the soup mixture over the chicken.  Sprinkle with the croutons and the butter.

Step 3

Bake for 45 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

    VERY good

    Better with chicken tenderloins. I did add a can of carrots. I think next time I may add fried onions. Very very good!!

    Quick and Easy Chicken Breast Casserole

    We made this the other night and it was delicious! My mom is allergic to mushrooms so we used Cream of Chicken soup instead and it was still awesome. We're definitely going to make it again. Its simple and good.

    Quick and Easy Chicken Breast Casserole

    very easy. I did not add alcohol, added half cup of water, added can of carrots, drained. The soup made a nice flavourful sauce.
