Everyone loves eating Chicken Parmesan but making it can be time consuming.  This one-skillet meal has the great flavor that you love about Chicken Parm but without the work.  It’s on the table in less than 30 minutes.  The best part is that the pasta cooks right in the skillet so that’s one less pot for clean-up!

Ingredients

    jar (24 ounces) Prego® Traditional Italian Sauce or Prego® Tomato Basil Garlic Italian Sauce

  • 6

    ounces (about 1 1/2 cups) uncooked elbow macaroni (The macaroni cooks right in the dish- a time saver and one less pot to clean)

  • 2

    cups water

  • 2

    cups diced cooked chicken

  • 1/2

    cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2

    cup shredded mozzarella cheese

How to Make It

Heat the sauce, macaroni and water in a 12-inch skillet over high heat to a boil.  Reduce the heat to medium-low.  Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until the macaroni is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in the chicken and Parmesan cheese and cook until hot.  Season to taste.  Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese.  Cover and let stand until the mozzarella cheese is melted.

Recipe Tips

  • If you don't have cooked chicken on hand, you can use 2 cups sliced cooked chicken nuggets or 3 cans (4.5 ounces each) Swanson® Premium White Chunk Chicken Breast in Water, drained.

    Good foundational recipe

    Fairly bland, but holds promise with the additions recommended by others. I added garlic powder to my second helping which was an improvement. I plan to experiment with this recipe. It is certainly easy to prepare. My wife enjoyed it.

    Quick Skillet Chicken & Macaroni Parmesan

    This was quick and easy. My family loved it!! The only change I made was to use a Florentine spaghetti Sauce (Spinach and Cheese).
