    tablespoons cornstarch

    can (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Beef Consommé

  • 1/4

    cup water

  • 2

    tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1

    pound boneless beef sirloin steak, 3/4-inch thick, cut into very thin strips

  • 1 1/2

    cups fresh or frozen broccoli florets

  • 1

    medium onion, cut into wedges

  • 1/4

    teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1

    cup long grain white rice, prepared according to package directions (about 3 cups)

How to Make It

Step 1

Stir the cornstarch, consommé and water in a medium bowl until the mixture is smooth.

Step 2

Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry until it's well browned. Push the beef to one side of the skillet.

Step 3

Add the broccoli, onion and garlic powder to the other side of the skillet and stir-fry until tender-crisp.

Step 4

Stir the cornstarch mixture in the skillet. Cook and stir until the mixture boils and thickens. Serve the beef mixture over the rice.

Recipe Tips

  • Ingredient Note: To make slicing easier, freeze the beef for 1 hour before slicing.

    Saucy Beef & Broccoli

    I added additional vegetables (sliced carrots, celery and green pepper), added to the rice and poured the sauce over everything. Then spent 30 minutes finishing about three helpings. Perfect.
