How to Make It

Cook the sausage in a 6-quart saucepot over medium-high heat until well browned, stirring often to separate meat.  Pour off any fat. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the onion and garlic to the saucepot and cook until they're tender, stirring occasionally. Stir the soup, milk, broccoli and 1/4 cup cheese in the saucepot and heat to a boil.  Reduce the heat to low.  Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the sausage is cooked through and the broccoli is tender, stirring occasionally. Add the pasta and toss to coat.  Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.  Serve with the red pepper, if desired.

    Bland

I wasn't a big fan of this recipe. I don't think there was enough flavor to it, I ended up adding a few spices, but still wasn't impressed.

    Sausage and Broccoli with Pasta

My son and I loved this recipe, and he's only 5. His favorite veggie is broccoli so it was a home run. I did use frozen broccoli and I wished I would have steamed it in the microwave first before adding it to the mix because it took longer to warm through than I thought it would. I made a double batch so I would have leftovers. I just knew that it would be good. My little man has already asked if he can have it for lunch tomorrow. It really was a hit in my household.

    Sausage and Broccoli with Pasta

My son and I made this recipe together. It took longer than 25 minutes but it was well worth it. My 14 year old daughter who is very picky even liked the leftovers the next day. My son says this should be a weekly dish. We added green peppers in with the onions and used Colby Jack cheese instead of Parmesan cheese. It was delicious. Looking forward to making it again.
