    tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 4

    skinless, boneless chicken breast halves or 1 beef sirloin steak (about 1 pound), cut into strips

  • 1

    medium green or red bell pepper, cut into 2-inch-long strips (about 1 1/2 cups)

    medium onion, sliced (about 1/2 cup)

  • 1 1/2

    cups Pace® Picante Sauce - Medium

How to Make It

Step 1

Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until well browned, stirring often.

Step 2

Stir the pepper and onion in the skillet and cook until they're tender-crisp.  Stir the picante sauce in the skillet and cook until the mixture is hot and bubbling.

Step 3

Spoon about 1/2 cup chicken mixture down the center of each tortilla.  Top with additional picante sauce.  Fold the tortillas around the filling.  Serve with guacamole, if desired.

Recipe Tips

  • Serving Suggestion: Serve with a Spanish-flavored seasoned rice mix. For dessert serve flan.

    very tasteful

    I decided to surprise my girls with this dish & they enjoyed it alot. I served rice on the side.They gave me two thumbs up,so i know i could also do these dish & it is so easy to make. I was surprise how it came out very tasteful & it has a kick to it (a lilttle spicy) for some people maybe.

    Better Than Expected!

    This was sooooo much better than I expected! My husband is a picky eater, so getting him to eat veggies is always a task. I added extra veggies here and loved how the picante made this a veggie heavy meal! I used extra-lean steak tips from my local butcher and seasoned the meat in a blend of garlic powder and mexican spices (cumin, paprika, cayenne and a hint of fresh cilantro) and shook it up in a baggy before cooking and used just a dab of oil instead of 2 tbsp. to cut back on calories. This was great and I can't wait to try it again with chicken!

    It was as good as it looks,

    I did place the chicken in a bag w/ garlic powder as I saw suggested. Tasted wonderful. My daughter really liked, which says something. Only thing, tried w/ corn tortillas- not so good. Maybe it was the brand. Will make this again!

    Great for busy weeknights

    I seasoned the meat with garlic powder before cooking and added a little more when I sauteed the veggies. This was delicious and my hubby enjoyed it, too! Will make it again.
