Using prepared French onion soup as the base for this slow cooker recipe makes it as simple as it is satisfying!

cans (10 1/2 ounces each ) Campbell’s® Condensed French Onion Soup
cups (1 soup can) water
stalks celery, sliced (about 1 1/2 cups)
large carrot, sliced (about 1 1/2 cups)
cups dried lentils
can (about 14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
cloves garlic, minced
pounds beef for stew, cut into 1-inch pieces
Stir the soup, water, celery, carrots, lentils, tomatoes, thyme, garlic and beef in a 5-quart slow cooker. Season as desired.
Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.

I made this and it was delicious, super easy to make and super affordable. I did not have French onion soup in the grocery store (I’m in Canada) but I found onion soup and it works just as fine I think. Cooked all day no hassle at all. This meal is perfect for a family or a busy young adult who doesn’t have time to cook after work,put it in the crockpot in the morning and come home to a meal prepared.
