tablespoons coarse salt
cups ice cubes
cup mezcal (about 4 fluid ounces)
cup orange liqueur (like Triple Sec) (about 2 fluid ounces)
teaspoons agave nectar (also called agave syrup)
Cut 1 lime into wedges. Rub the rims of 2 glasses with a lime wedge, then coat with the salt. Reserve the remaining wedges to serve with the margaritas, if desired.
Juice the blood oranges and the remaining lime. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour the blood orange juice, lime juice, mezcal, orange liqueur and agave nectar into the shaker. Close and shake well. Pour the mixture into the glasses. Serve with the reserved lime wedges, if desired.
