Here's a fun twist on a traditional stroganoff that features flavorful chicken in a savory cream sauce - but, best of all, it's ready in less than an hour.
cost per recipe: $10.38
The price is determined by the national average.
tablespoons vegetable oil
pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into strips
cups sliced mushrooms (about 6 ounces)
medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
can (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell’s® Healthy Request® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
cup plain nonfat yogurt
cup water
dash paprika (optional)
ounces medium egg noodles (about 4 cups), cooked without salt and drained
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until well browned, stirring often. Remove the chicken from the skillet.
Heat the remaining oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and onion and cook until they're tender.
Stir the soup, yogurt and water in the skillet and heat to a boil. Return the chicken to the skillet. Reduce the heat to low. Cook for 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Sprinkle with the paprika, if desired. Serve the chicken and sauce with the noodles.

Well, normally I do not make modifications to a recipe if I'm going to rate it. But.....my hubbie went to the store for me and forgot to get the chicken so thankfully I had a can of chicken in the pantry. Other than substituting a can of chicken versus chicken breast was the only change I made. My hubbie does not like sour cream or yogurt and I was a little concerned he would find me out, but he didn't and he said he loved it so please keep my secret. Great meal!!

Made this recipe last night and loved it. However, I did make some changes. I cooked the chicken in oil, but the mushrooms and onions in butter. I also used the Campbell's cream of chicken soup instead of the healthy request. (If I'm cooking with butter, I might as well go all the way!) :) And I used full fat sour cream in place of the yogurt. it turned out amazing, and everyone loved it. Had it last night with the noodles, and this morning I had the leftovers over rice (cooked in chicken broth of course!) and it was outstanding.
