Stromboli gets a makeover with these Italian-style wraps. Warm flour tortillas are spread with a savory pesto marinara sauce and wrap around a filling of salami, capicola, shredded cheese and roasted red peppers. 15 minutes in the oven results in golden wraps that are chock full of incredible flavor.

    jar (24 ounces) Prego® Pesto Marinara Italian Sauce, heated or Prego® Marinara Italian Sauce

  • 4

    (10-inch) flour tortilla, warmed

  • 2

    cups shredded Italian cheese blend (about 8 ounces)

  • 5

    ounces salami, thinly sliced

  • 6

    ounces deli hamcapicola or, thinly sliced

  • 1/2

    cup roasted red bell pepper, cut into strips

How to Make It

Step 1

Heat the oven to 400° F.  Spray a baking sheet with the cooking spray.

Step 2

Spread 1/4 cup sauce on each tortilla to within 1 inch of the edge.  Sprinkle each with 1/2 cup cheese.  Divide the salami, ham and roasted peppers among the tortillas.  Fold two opposite sides in 2 inches over the filling.  Starting at the bottom, roll up to enclose the filling.  Place the wraps, seam-side down, onto the baking sheet.

Step 3

Bake for 12 minutes or until the wraps are golden brown.  Let the wraps cool on the baking sheet on a wire rack for 5 minutes.  Serve with the remaining sauce for dipping.

    ways to make it healthier

    You could use turkey based meats, low sodium marinara sauce, 2% shredded cheese and roast your own red peppers and even use healthier whole wheat tortillas to make it healthier!
