From Christy Pope of Midnight Rambler in Dallas, this version of a Hot Toddy is inspired by two of Grandma’s best ever cures – chicken soup and whiskey or in this case, gin!  This ‘stock-tail’ is sweet and sour with a bit of a kick and the stock makes it a little savory and salty.  Perfect for whatever ails you!

Ingredients

    cup Swanson® Organic Chicken Stock or Swanson® Vegetable Stock

  • 3

    tablespoons lime juice

  • 1 1/2

    tablespoons pineapple juice

  • 1 1/2

    tablespoons sugar

  • 1/4

    teaspoon sriracha hot chili sauce

  • 3

    fluid ounces gin (about 1/3 cup)

  • 2

    star anise

How to Make It

Heat the stock, lime juice, pineapple juice, sugar and sriracha in a 2- quart saucepan over medium heat until the mixture is hot and the sugar has dissolved, stirring often. Stir in the gin.  Divide the mixture between 2 heat-safe glasses and garnish with the star anise.
