We’ve stepped up the traditional baked ziti by adding some fresh spinach to the mix.  While this dish looks and tastes like it took a lot of effort to pull together, you only need 15 minutes to prep it.  What makes this dish even better is that you can assemble it ahead of time and then just pop it into the oven 30 minutes before dinnertime.

    package (1 pound) uncooked medium tube-shaped pasta (ziti)

    bag (6 ounces) baby spinach, washed (about 4 cups)

  • 1

    jar (24 ounces) Prego® Three Cheese Italian Sauce

  • 1

    cup reduced fat (part skim) ricotta cheese

  • 1

    cup shredded mozzarella cheese (about 4 ounces)

  • 3/4

    cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1

    small clove garlic, minced

  • 1/4

    teaspoon ground black pepper

How to Make It

Step 1

Heat the oven to 350°F.  Prepare the ziti  according to the package directions in a 6-quart saucepot. Add the spinach during the last minute of the cooking time. Drain the ziti and spinach well in a colander. Return them to the saucepot.

Step 2

Add the sauce, ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, the garlic and black pepper to the ziti mixture and stir to coat. Spoon into a 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheeses.

Step 3

Bake for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbling.

    I made this recipe exactly as written and loved it. My husband thought it would be even better with meat, so the next time I made it I added Italian sausage, mushrooms, and olives. Either way. it was delicious. We really liked the spinach in it. I will definitely make this again and will pass it on to my children!

    Easy and yummy!!

    Great weeknight meal! I added a 1/2 lb of cooked lean hamburger meat. Very tasty! Whole family loved it and plenty of leftovers.

    Easy and yummy

    It doesn't get any quicker or easier than this. We really enjoyed this, and had plenty left over for the next day. One of my daughters wanted it to be more saucy - I might add more next time.
