    can (about 15 ounces) chickpeas (garbanzo beans), rinsed and drained

    tablespoons lemon juice

  • 2

    cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4

    cup water

How to Make It

Step 1

Heat an 8-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the sesame seeds. Cook and stir for 1 minute or until they're toasted. Remove the skillet from the heat.

Step 2

Place the chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic and sesame seeds into a food processor.  Cover and process until the mixture is smooth, adding the water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.

Step 3

Cut the bread slices into triangles. Serve with the hummus.

    MY mother-in-law had never treid Hummus before. When I told her that it was good for you and cane be served as everything fro dips to an accompaniment for vegetables, she loved it!
