Spicy and sweet with a little fizz, this aromatic gin drink will make you look like a professional mixologist (and it only takes a few easy steps!). The refreshing blend of strawberry cucumber and lavender bitters nicely compliments the peppercorn simple syrup and ginger beer. Impress your friends and make a few batches at your next happy hour.
tablespoon black peppercorns
can (8 ounces) V8 +HYDRATE™ Strawberry Cucumber, chilled
fluid ounces gin (about 1/4 cup)
teaspoons lemon juice
teaspoon lavender bitters
cup ginger beer, chilled
Stir the sugar and water in a microwavable bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 1 minute or until the mixture boils. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the peppercorns and let stand for 10 minutes. Strain and discard the peppercorns.Step 2
Place the strawberries into a cocktail shaker. Using a muddler or the back end of a wooden spoon, muddle the strawberries (lightly crush against the side of the shaker to release flavor).Step 3
Add the V8, gin, lemon juice, bitters and 1 tablespoon sugar mixture (reserve the rest for another use). Cover and shake until combined. Stir in the ginger beer. Strain the mixture into 2 ice-filled glasses. Garnish with additional strawberries or cucumber slices, if desired.
