Throw all the ingredients into the slow-cooker at once, and it will make this kicked-up corn chowder for you. Plus, the smoky chorizo and the spicy poblano chilies make this soup especially delicious.

Outstanding Recipe
My friends and family really enjoyed the soup. Very easy and simple to construct.
I would suggest rendering the chorizo, helps get rid of some of the fat.
Will make it again.
Very healthy!
Delicious with a few changes
I loved this recipe!! I followed it, but made a few changes that I think are needed.
1. I added 1/2 cup extra of heavy cream 2. I added 1/2 cup of canned milk 3. I added an additional potato 4. I seasoned the chicken before cutting it into cubes and putting it in the crock pot 5. I used Alexia brand Italian herb frozen corn with sundried tomatoes instead of plain frozen corn 6. I added pepper, accent, paprika, and beer can chicken seasoning to the crock pot before turning it on
Easy and Delicious!
Great chowder! I substituted fat free 1/2 and 1/2 (for the cream) and I browned the Chirico and chicken - cooked on high for 2 hours and low for 2 hours and it was fabulous! Served with toasted cheesy garlic bread! Yum!
Very good!
I used browned and crumbled chorizo I had in my freezer. So I cooked the chicken breasts whole for a few hours and then removed and when cooled, I shredded. I also had some fresh cayenne peppers so chopped just a little to add some more heat.
I also used evaporated milk rather than cream. Still was creamy but with less fat. Delish!
Slow Cooker Poblano Corn Chowder with Chicken and Chorizo
I made this without the chorizo, just put extra chicken. And I didnt use as much corn as it called for, but more potato. It was so awesome! Everyone wanted seconds, even a guest. One person was upset that there were no leftovers! It doubles easily, and was really nice to come home to in the crock pot after work. Absolutely will make it again. As usual with these recipes, it needed more seasoning.
