Cook the beef, onion and pepper in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is well browned, stirring often to separate the meat. Pour off any fat.
Stir the broth, tomato sauce, chili powder and garlic powder in the skillet and heat to a boil. Stir in the rice. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender. Serve with the cheese and sour cream, if desired.

This is a very delicious and easy dish with tons of flavor and not much prep work. I did add few dashes of crushed red pepper flakes while the onion and green pepper were sauteeing for a little heat. I topped with sour cream and cheddar jack cheese..deelish! Will definitely make again!
This was a super easy recipe to make after a long day at work. Easy peasy, even for a beginner like me! I never have good luck with long grain rice in recipes. I followed the directions carefully but the rice wasn't quite cooked enough. Might try instant rice next time.
The flavor was really good. Not spicy, but certainly not bland. Will definitely make again, but maybe tweek it a little like others did.
It's very, very tasty and easy to make. Be sure to keep the lid on the rice so it acts like a rice cooker. I turned the heat up a bit more than described in this portion because the rice wasn't cooking.
