Come home to this delicious, Asian-inspired chicken dinner that slow cooks all day to yield delicious results.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Swanson® Chicken Broth or Chicken Stock
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup orange marmalade
  • 4 green onion, sliced (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 pounds bone-in chicken thigh, skin removed
  • 1/2 cup walnut pieces
  • 4 cups cooked Japanese soba (buckwheat) noodles or linguine (from about 8 ounces dry)

Instructions

  • Tips

    • Time-Saving: The recipe may also be cooked on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Step 1

    Stir the broth, teriyaki sauce, garlic, marmalade, 1/4 cup green onions and cornstarch in a 6-quart slow cooker. Add the chicken and turn to coat.

  • Step 2

    Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours or until the chicken is cooked through. Sprinkle with the walnuts and remaining green onions. Serve the chicken and sauce with the noodles.

    Can I use frozen bone-in chicken thighs?? Or do I need to thaw them first?

    I am a husband who likes to cook. We are trying to stay with chicken & fish for a main meal. This was delicious & very easy! The juice was a little thin, so next time more corn starch. For a better presentation and flavor, I added 3-4 slices of a fresh orange. My wife gave it a 5 star rating!

    I made this with skinless, boneless chicken breasts. It had a very good flavor, but it was somewhat dry. I think when using breasts, I should probably lower the cooking time to 7 hours. Will definitely make again.

    Easy Dish...Used boneless skinless Chicken breasts. To add more orange flavor added orange juice a tad more corn starch..If one really wants more "intense" orange flavor I would suggest either the Orange juice or frozen Orange juice concentrate. Everything was tender flavorful.

    I loved how easy this was to prepare. Just throw everything in the crockpot and forget about in. I came out so tender that the chicken was falling off the bone. However, I wish there was more orange flavor to it and that the consistency was a little thicker. Next time I make it, I'm going to try using more cornstarch and more orange marmalade. I used a white meat on bone chicken.
