Our Slow Cooker Chili recipe uses only 5 ingredients and you probably have most of them on hand.  It takes just 5 minutes of prep, so it’s the perfect recipe to pull together before heading out to work in the morning.  We’ve used lean ground beef, so there’s no need to even brown the beef first.  Simply add the ground beef to your slow cooker with chili powder, ground cumin, salsa and kidney beans.  Then set and forget it.  There’s nothing better than coming home to a hot, delicious dinner ready to go!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds 90% extra lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 jars (about 16 ounces each) Pace® Chunky Salsa
  • 2 cans (about 15 ounces each) kidney beans, rinsed and drained

Instructions

  • Tips

    • Time-Saving Tip: You may also cook on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.
    • For spicy chili, use Pace® Hot Chunky Salsa.
    • Easy Substitution Tip: You can use any variety of canned beans in this recipe- use the kidney beans as shown or try pinto beans, or a combination of both!
  • Step 1

Place the beef, chili powder, cumin, salsa and beans in a 6-quart slow cooker.  Stir to separate the beef.

  • Step 2

Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours or until the beef is cooked through.  Stir again to separate the beef.  Serve with your favorite chili toppings.
