  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves or skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cut into cubes
  • 1 each medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) Prego® Chunky Garden Mushroom & Green Pepper Italian Sauce
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine or water
  • 1/2 of a 1-pound package rotini (spiral) pasta, cooked and drained


  • Tips

    • Serving Suggestion: Serve with steamed whole green beans and yellow beans and soft wheat dinner rolls. For dessert serve mini eclairs.
  • Step 1

    Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and onion and cook for 10 minutes or until the chicken is browned, stirring often.  Add the garlic and cook and stir for 1 minute.

  • Step 2

    Stir in the sauce and wine and heat to a boil.  Reduce the heat to low.  Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.  Serve the chicken mixture with the rotini.

    This recipe was great. Might try adding bell pepper and mushroom. Great just like it is.

    Was a bit bland. Added some extra garlic so spike the flavor a bit. Kinda a spaghetti dish with a twist. Served with garlic bread and parmesan cheese.

    It was easy to make but I thought it came out rather bland. Maybe if I'd added something to it to spice it up it would have been better. As it was, it tasted like spagetti with chicken instead of meatballs. I expected more somehow. I made enough to pack for lunches and it ended up going to waste because no one wanted a second serving.

    Quick, easy and delicious. I used spaghetti noodles and tossed them with butter and garlic salt.

    I seasoned the chicken first with a little soy sauce, garlic, and crushed red peppers! Fabuloso!
