Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds thin-sliced skinless boneless chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 large onion, sliced (about 2 cups)
  • 1 large bell pepper, sliced (about 2 cups)
  • 1 jar (14.5 ounces) Prego® Cajun Alfredo Pasta Sauce
  • 6 Pepperidge Farm® Farmhouse® Brioche Hamburger Buns, toasted

Instructions

  • Step 1

    Season the chicken with salt and pepper and set aside. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a 12-inch skillet.  Add the onions and peppers and sauté for 5-6 minutes or until vegetables are softened. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside.

  • Step 2

    Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan and cook the chicken in batches (3 at a time) until browned on both sides, about 5-6 minutes for reach batch. 

  • Step 3

    Add the sauce to the pan, along with the first batch of chicken and heat to a boil.

  • Step 4

    To assemble the sandwiches, place one chicken breast (coated in sauce) on each bottom bun.  Top each chicken breast with 1/3 cup of the vegetables.  Place the top bun on each sandwich. Serve with the additional heated sauce.
