Chicken Corn Chowder

This creamy, hearty chowder features chicken, corn and bacon, kicked up with picante sauce.


  • 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Celery Soup or (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed 98% Fat Free Cream of Celery Soup
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup Pace® Picante Sauce
  • 1 can (about 8 ounces) whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 cup cubed cooked chicken or turkey
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon sliced green onion


  • Tips

    • Tip: Substitute Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup for the Cream of Celery.
  • Step 1

    Heat the soup, milk, picante sauce, corn, chicken and bacon in a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat until the mixture is hot and bubbling, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 2

    Sprinkle with the cheese and onion. Drizzle each serving with additional picante sauce.

    Every since my I came across and made this recipe about 3 years ago it is a constant request from my wife in the fall. Around the holidays I'll switch it up and use turkey instead of the chicken....still comes out great. My wife however didn't care for the cream of celery so I altered that a couple years ago and used cream of mushroom instead. Ads a subtle savoriness to it imo. I also have to make a double batch for my wife else I'll never hear the end of it she loves it so much and have to make it about twice a month.

    I had now clue what to have for dinner one day & I knew it had to be made a head of time so I can just heat it up when I got home. I made this in the morning cooked it & put it in the fridge. I got home around 7pm took it out of the fridge & heated it up & served it all ready made dinner rolls. It was perfect for just two people. I added extra salt & pepper salsa bacon some chilli powder & a can of green beans. I made it my own & it was so good. Will make it in the future. I highly recommend it.

    This turned out MMM GOOD. I doubled it for a book club and everyone liked it. Used Healthy Choice Cream of Chicken. Took others’ suggestions and added one chopped fresh red pepper, which added a nice crunch, plus put in crockpot, high until heated up, then low for several hours. One can creamed corn and one can Roasted Corn (or would have used Mexicorn as one reviewer did). I used Mild Picante instead of Medium and I thought it was perfect. I’m glad I had some left to bring home because it was so delicious.

    I did finish a bowl and it was very filling. My husband said it was "really good" however I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I thought the celery soup was an odd combination with the picante sauce.

    Campbells has been bringing frugal meals to the table since i was a child at Aunt Debbies Dinner Table.She could stretch a couple cans of soup or pork and beans to feed 4 adults and 7 children.Campbells is a great start to home cooked meals and warm childhood memories..linda turner of Bath N.C.
