Easy Taco Nachos

This mash-up of two all time favorites, tacos and nachos, is perfect for parties, snacking or even a fun family dinner.  Our salsa is the secret to perfectly seasoned beef.  Top off with cheese and your favorite toppings.  It gets even better because this soon-to-be family favorite is ready to eat in only 30 minutes.   

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (16 ounces) Pace® Chunky Salsa or Picante Sauce, Medium
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 package (about 9 ounces) tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese or Mexican cheese blend (about 8 ounces)

    • Top the baked nachos with your favorite nacho toppings, like salsa, sliced jalapeño peppers, black olives, refried beans, guacamole and/or sour cream.

  • Step 1

    Set the oven to 350°F.

  • Step 2

    Cook the beef in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat until well browned, stirring often to separate meat.  Pour off any fat.  Reduce the heat to medium.  Add the salsa, cumin and chili powder and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season to taste.

  • Step 3

    Arrange the tortilla chips on a rimmed baking sheet (For easy cleanup, line the baking sheet with foil first).  Top with the beef mixture.  Sprinkle with the cheese.

  • Step 4

    Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
