Brown sugar, picante and Worcestershire sauces make this sweet & spicy, and slow cooking makes it tender and delicious. Serve the brisket on sandwich buns or rolls to soak up all the flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds trimmed beef brisket
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups Pace® Picante Sauce
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 10 Pepperidge Farm® Sesame Topped Hamburger Buns

Instructions

  • Tips

    • Alternate Preparation: To make this recipe in a slow cooker, cover and refrigerate the beef as directed above.  Place the beef and picante sauce mixture into a 7-quart slow cooker.  Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.  Slice or shred the beef.  Divide the beef and sauce among the rolls.
  • Step 1

Season the beef with the black pepper and garlic powder and place into a 3-quart shallow baking dish.  Stir the picante sauce, brown sugar and Worcestershire in a small bowl.  Spread the picante sauce mixture over the beef.  Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight.

  • Step 2

Bake, covered, at 300°F. for 4 1/2 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.  Slice or shred the beef.  Divide the beef and sauce among the rolls.
