Ingredients

  • 8 ounces uncooked penne pasta (about 2 1/2 cups)
  • 1 jar (14.5 ounces) Prego® Homestyle Alfredo Sauce or Light Homestyle Alfredo Sauce
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing or light ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese or Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Tips

    • Ingredient Note: You can substitute dry ranch dressing mix for the ranch dressing in this recipe.  Stir 1/2 of a 1-ounce packet (about 1 1/2 tablespoons) into the penne mixture.
  • Step 1

    Cook and drain the penne according to the package directions.  While the penne is cooking, heat the oven to 350°F.  

  • Step 2

    Stir the cooked penne, sauce, bacon, dressing and half the cheese in a large bowl.

  • Step 3

    Spoon the penne mixture into an 8x8x2-inch baking dish.  Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

  • Step 4

    Bake for 20 minutes or until the penne mixture is hot.

    I made a lot more put lots of broccoli and cheddar cheese and alfredo sauce in it. Put thawed tater tots all over the top it's in the oven now looks GOOD!

    This was a great easy recipe. I did use 2 cups of cheese and Parmesan cheese. I also added chicken.

    I made this with Classico Original Alfredo sauce and added 6 slices of cooked crumbled bacon and some chopped chives. I used a blend of pizza cheese and cheddar since no Jack was on hand. It was gobbled up and next time I will double the recipe because I know my 2 guests would have enjoyed 2nd helpings-- maybe even 3rds!!
    ps Please discontinue the "helpful/not helpful" option for reviewers. It introduces a negative element to an otherwise positive and creative forum. As my grammy would say: "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing." What do other reviewers think??

    I like to wait and see if my oven will cooperate. It won't so I am careful to watch the cheese that is melted on top of all these dishes Cheese is just too dear.

    Double this recipe, you will not regret it. Who uses 1/2 package of dry ranch dressing mix anyway? This dish was easy to make and a hit with our regular Wednesday night crowd at church. Mac and Cheese is great anyway, but throw bacon into the mix and you have a sure fire winner!!
