One Pot Mushroom Spaghetti

Love cooking but hate the clean-up? With One Pot Mushroom Spaghetti, we’ve simplified the recipe so you won’t even have to get a colander dirty. Add spaghetti and let it cook to al dente perfection right in our prefectly seasoned sauce (with no added sugar!).  Only 6 ingredients and 30 minutes gets this meal on the table, so it's perfect for a weeknight or busy weekend dinner.  Try serving this One Pot Mushroom Spaghetti with fresh basil or shredded Parmesan cheese- it will look and taste great! 

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil or olive oil
  • 6 ounces mushrooms, sliced (about 2 cups)
  • 1 jar (23.5 ounces) Prego® Traditional No Sugar Added Italian Sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 8 ounces uncooked spaghetti, broken in half
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

    • Recipe Note: For a version without mushrooms, you can omit the mushrooms and oil and skip Step 1.
  • Step 1

    Heat the oil in a 6-quart saucepot over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 2

    Add the sauce, water and spaghetti to the saucepot and heat to a boil. Cover. Reduce the heat to medium-low. 

  • Step 3

    Cook for 20 minutes or until the spaghetti is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in the cheese.  Season to taste.  Serve sprinkled with chopped fresh basil, if desired.
