Potato gnocchi are fluffy little dumplings of pasta that have all the comfort of pasta and mashed potatoes combined. This Baked Gnocchi recipe takes a good thing and makes it amazing! Just saute some pancetta with crushed red pepper for heat, then add the potato gnocchi and a creamy tomato basil sauce. Top with mozzarella cheese and bake until perfectly melted. Just a few ingredients and only 30 minutes are all you need to make this Baked Gnocchi recipe.

  • 32 ounces frozen potato gnocchi (you can also use refrigerated or shelf-stable gnocchi)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 ounces diced pancetta or bacon
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 1 jar (23.5 ounces) Prego® Creamy Basil Tomato Italian Sauce
  • 4 ounces fresh whole milk mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons thinly sliced fresh basil leaves or flat-leaf parsley (optional)

  • Step 1

Cook and drain the gnocchi according to the package directions.  While the gnocchi are cooking, heat the oven to 400°F.

  • Step 2

Heat the oil in a 12-inch ovenproof skillet over medium-low heat.  Add the pancetta and red pepper, if desired, and cook for 3 minutes.  Add the cooked gnocchi and cook for 2 minutes.

  • Step 3

Add the sauce and heat to a boil.  Remove the skillet from the heat.  Top with the cheese.

  • Step 4

Bake for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Sprinkle with the basil before serving, if desired.
