Spicy ground beef, picante sauce, cream cheese and Cheddar are heated together for a hearty dip with maximum's a quick and tasty appetizer to serve with tortilla chips.


  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 cup Pace® Picante Sauce
  • 4 ounces (1/2 of an 8-ounce package) cream cheese, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (about 2 ounces)
  • 2 tablespoons diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onion
  • 2 tablespoons sliced pitted black olives
  • 2 tablespoons seeded sliced jalapeño pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 18 ounces (1 bag) tortilla chips


  • Step 1

    Cook the beef and chili powder in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.

  • Step 2

    Stir the picante sauce, cream cheese and Cheddar cheese in the skillet. Cook and stir until the cheese is melted.

  • Step 3

    Spoon the beef mixture into a medium bowl.  Sprinkle with the tomatoes, onion, olives and pepper and top with the sour cream, if desired.  Serve with the tortilla chips.
