Stew meat gets especially tender when it slow cooks all day with red beans and chili powder-seasoned picante to make this hearty and delicious chili...it's great for weeknight dinners or weekend parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar (16 ounces) Pace® Picante Sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground chipotle chile powder
  • 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 2  pounds beef for stew, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 can (about 15 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese(optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream(optional)

    • Time-Saving: The recipe may also be cooked on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Step 1

    Stir the picante sauce, water, chili powder, ground chipotle, onion, beef and beans in a 3 1/2-quart slow cooker.

  • Step 2

    Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours or until the beef is fork-tender. Serve with the cheese and sour cream, if desired.
