This cheesy Meatless Baked Ziti is baked to perfection in a rich, savory tomato sauce that coats every bite of pasta. The best part? The noodles cook right in the sauce, so they come out perfectly al dente without the hassle of boiling first. With layers of melty cheese and hearty flavor, it’s a warm, comforting dish that comes together in just one pan—easy to make, easy to clean up, and even easier to love.
Step 1
Heat the oven to 425°F. While the oven is heating, stir the sauce, water, half the mozzarella cheese, the ricotta and half the Parmesan cheese in a 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Place the baking dish onto a rimmed baking sheet. Stir in the uncooked ziti, making sure it's submerged in the sauce mixture (the dish will be very full, so you'll need to stir carefully). Cover the baking dish tightly with foil.
Step 2
Bake for 50 minutes or until the ziti is tender. Uncover and stir the ziti mixture. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Step 3
Bake, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until the cheeses are melted. If desired, serve topped with dollops of additional ricotta cheese and some fresh basil.
