To amp it up even more, see the easy tip for serving on buttery, golden-brown garlic bread buns! You can even top these Easy Skillet Pizza Burgers with Traditional Italian Sauce with your favorite pizza toppings (we love adding pepperoni!).
Thoroughly mix the beef, 1/2 cup sauce, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder and oregano in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Shape the mixture firmly into 4 (1/2-inch thick) burgers.
Heat a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the burgers and cook until well browned on both sides (to prevent sticking- make sure the skillet is hot before adding the burgers). Pour off any fat.
Stir the remaining sauce in the skillet. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the burgers are done. Top the burgers with the mozzarella cheese and heat until the cheese is melted. Serve the burgers on the buns with the sauce on the side for dipping.
