Step 1
Cook and drain the pasta according to the package directions, reserving 1/4 cup cooking water. While the pasta is cooking, stir the cheese, parsley and lemon zest in a small bowl.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook until well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.
Step 3
Add the garlic to the skillet and cook and stir for 2 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Stir in the sauce and cook for 2 minutes. Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat. For thinner sauce, stir in some of the reserved cooking water. Serve topped with the cheese mixture.
