We believe that a healthful diet is based on both variety and moderation, and that our diverse product line — including soups, broths, gravies, sauces, juice beverages, canned pastas, and baked goods — can be enjoyed as part of an overall balanced plan. We follow all government regulations regarding product labeling, including the new requirements and schedules that have been issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) concerning trans fat.
Check out the nutrition label on the product. We follow all government regulations regarding product labeling, including listing the level of fat in a single serving. Please remember to check the package every time, because product recipes change frequently and ingredients are periodically added and replaced.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) determines serving sizes, which we are required to list on our packages. Of special note is the 1/2-cup serving size for condensed soup. This is the “as packaged” serving size, which translates to 1 cup as prepared. All of our product labels include the nutrient information for a single serving.
We have developed many delicious products using our expertise to help lower the sodium level. To obtain information about Campbell's extensive variety of reduced sodium options, visit Campbell's Center for Nutrition and Wellness at http://www.campbellwellness.com.

We follow all government regulations regarding product labeling. When dairy products, including milk, butter, casein, whey and cheese, are present in any quantity, they will always be listed in our product ingredient statement. We recommend that consumers evaluate each product based on its ingredient statement. To prevent possible cross-contact between products, we use an extensive and effective sanitation procedure between processing operations.
We follow all government regulations regarding product labeling. When soy, soy lecithin, or soy proteins are present in any quantity, they will always be listed in our product ingredient statement. We recommend that consumers evaluate each product based on its ingredient statement. To prevent possible cross-contact between products, we use an extensive and effective sanitation procedure between processing operations.
If a Campbell product contains monosodium glutamate (MSG), the ingredient will be listed in our product ingredient statement.
Hydrolyzed plant or vegetable proteins have naturally occurring glutamate. These flavor-enhancing proteins are derived from corn, wheat, soybeans, or other vegetables. During preparation, the proteins are completely broken down into amino acids, which are an essential part of our diets.
We list hydrolyzed plant proteins by their common names in the ingredient statements on our product labels. We do not include them under the broader listings of "spices" or "natural flavors." We recommend that consumers always evaluate a product based on the ingredient listing on its label.
We follow all government regulations regarding product labeling. When any of these top eight allergens is present in any quantity, it will always be listed in our product ingredient statement. Yes. The overwhelming weight of scientific evidence supports that foods made from GMO crops are safe and play an important role in feeding the world. Science shows that food derived from crops grown using genetically modified seeds are not nutritionally different from other foods We use ingredients that are made from the four crops that use GMO seeds. These crops are: canola, corn, soy and sugar beet. In the U.S. more than 90 percent of these crops are grown from GM seeds which the FDA and others leading regulators have proven to be safe. Ingredients from them are also found in around 75 percent of foods, so they are widely used. Because people want to know if we use GM ingredients we’ve committed to adding GMO labels to our packs.
Campbell is committed to printing clear and simple language on the labels of our U.S. products which use ingredients derived from genetically modified crops.
We support legislation recently passed by the Senate because it’s a national solution and avoids a patchwork of different state labeling laws.
While this legislation offers a range of disclosure options for manufacturers, we will introduce an on-pack statement as we know that’s what the overwhelming majority of Americans support. We’re working on language that provides specific ingredient information and supports the science that GMOs are safe. We’ve conducted robust consumer research on a range of wording options and are working with regulatory agencies to introduce these over time.
We suggest that you visit www.WhatsInMyFood.com for more specific information on this and other facts about our products.
This will take some time. If the Vermont labeling legislation is passed, you may see labels on some of our products from around April. However, this is not the mandatory federal labeling we’re calling for. This is an example of a state law which is impractical and creates unnecessary confusion for consumers as it only applies to selected products.
We make around 130 different varieties of soups, sauces and broths that don’t contain added MSG. These include Campbell’s Healthy Request, Slow Kettle Style soups, SpaghettiOs, Campbell’s Dinner Sauces and many Swanson broths.
GMO is short for “genetically modified organisms.” It is sometimes called genetic engineering and refers to a process where desirable traits or characteristics are introduced into an organism. Genetically modified is also called genetically engineered.
In America many farmers who grow canola/cottonseed, corn, soybeans and sugar beets choose to use genetically modified seeds and have done so for nearly twenty years because it reduces costs and improves yields. More than 90% of these four crops in America are currently grown using genetically modified seeds. These crops are used to make a wide range of different ingredients that are used in foods we eat every day, ranging from vegetable oils to sugar.
Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is the sodium salt of a common amino acid. MSG occurs naturally in many foods, such as tomatoes and cheeses. It has been used safely as a seasoning in cooking for more than 100 years. It adds a savory or umami flavor and when used in conjunction with salt it creates a clean savory taste.
MSG is lower in sodium compared with table salt (sodium chloride). It contains only 13 percent sodium compared to 39 percent sodium in table salt. This means a small amount of MSG can be used instead of salt to create an appealing savory flavor. This is particularly useful when making great tasting foods which have reduced sodium and fat.
The Campbell Soup Company follows all government regulations regarding the labeling of our products. In the case of MSG, the term of Monosodium Glutamate will be clearly listed in the ingredient statement. If there are ingredients with naturally-occurring glutamate, they will also be labeled by their common name such as autolyzed yeast extract or hydrolyzed plant protein. We do not include any of those items under the broader listings of "spices" or "natural flavors". We recommend that consumers always check the ingredient statement and evaluate the product based on the statement.
Although we have significantly reduced our use of the ingredient in recent years, we do use high fructose corn syrup when it is right for the recipe, mostly to help deliver a smoother texture than other sugars can provide, or to keep the cost of a product affordable.
If High fructose corn syrup is used in a product, we will list it in our product ingredient statement.
Many people have told us they would prefer to avoid high fructose corn syrup, which is why we will continue to move away from using it in new products we launch and explore opportunities to remove it from certain existing products.
More than 80% of the products we offer for retail sale in the United States do not contain high fructose corn syrup including Campbell’s Sauces, Campbell’s Homestyle soup, Swanson broth, Prego Italian sauces and Slow Kettle Style soups (apart from Baked Potato which has it in one flavor which we are removing).
High Fructose Corn Syrup or HFCS is a liquid sweetener. High fructose corn syrup contains the same number of calories as table sugar and has been widely used in the food industry for more than fifty years.
We are committed to providing accurate and reliable ingredient statements upon which you can make your purchasing decisions. As ingredients in our products may change, we recommend that you check the label on our products for the most current and accurate ingredient and nutritional information. We follow all government regulation related to allergen labeling.

Like you, we know that the small choices we make, such as the packaging we use, can make a big difference over time. We are working toward a goal of deriving 100 percent of our global packaging materials from sustainable sources – that is, materials that are renewable, recyclable, or contain recycled content – by 2020.
Of course, recycling is subject to local guidelines, so we suggest you contact your local authority to confirm that any packaging is acceptable for recycling in your area.
BPA stands for Bisphenol A. It is a chemical or epoxy resin that is used in the thin layer of plastic that lines many of our cans. This lining separates the food from the metal, helping to keep its safe and preserve its nutritional value.
Campbell has transitioned to non-BPA lining in our steel cans in the United States and Canada, effective mid-2017. We transitioned to linings made from acrylic and polyester materials in our steel cans.
Products in PET bottles, pouches and cartons like some V8 beverages, Swanson broths and Campbell's sauces are in non-BPA packaging.
We also transitioned to non-BPA coatings in nearly all of our V8 beverage cans, microwaveable bowls and screw-top lids on glass jars in the U.S. and Canada at the end of 2017.
The date code is a series of letters and numbers that tell you how long the product will maintain its top quality and flavor. The letters represent the first three letters of a month (such as Mar for March or Nov for November). The numbers after that tell you the day of the month, followed by the year. For example, the code could read Jun 13 2014. This means for optimal flavor, texture, and quality, you should use the product by June 13, 2014.
Depending on the product type, the “Best Used By” date is printed on the end of the can, on the lid and/or neck of the jar or bottle, or at the bottom of the back of the pouch.
Simply soak the can in warm, soapy water for 20 minutes, and the label should peel away easily.
That varies based on the product and the storage conditions. To ensure the best flavor, texture, and overall quality, we recommend using the product before its “Best Used By Date,” printed on each container. However, if the product is not stored properly, the shelf life will be shortened. To maximize the shelf life, we recommend that you store non-refrigerated items in a cool, dry place where temperatures rarely exceed 70? F, and that refrigerated products be kept in your refrigerator at approximately 40? F.
This date indicates the product’s expected shelf life. We recommend using the product before this date to ensure the best flavor, texture, and overall quality.

Great question! For many of our soups, it takes just four steps:
1. Prepping. We select and prepare the finest ingredients, such as washing, peeling, and dicing vegetables.
2. Mixing. We carefully mix ingredients, such as chicken stock, before adding them to the can.
3. Cooking. Ingredients are added in a particular order – for example, noodles first, then chicken, broth, and other ingredients – to create the best flavor. We seal the can and cook it at a temperature to make sure the product will remain safe under normal conditions at the grocery store and in your pantry.
4. Packaging. We label the finished soup can and box it up before sending it to your grocery store.
We don't sponsor any collector's clubs, though you may be able to find one by searching the Internet. Campbell has a rich heritage, and we’re always glad to share our story. You can find a timeline featuring company milestones at www.campbells.com/about-us/campbell-history.
Donald Goerke invented SpaghettiOs pasta in 1965. Goerke, who worked with Campbell’s Franco-American brand, had been challenged to create a pasta dish that kids could eat easily with a spoon. He tried all sorts of shapes before deciding on the O, and he soon became known as the “Daddy-O of SpaghettiOs.” The product was promoted with the catchy jingle, "The neat, round spaghetti you can eat with a spoon: Uh-oh, SpaghettiOs!" The kid-friendly pasta transitioned to the Campbell’s brand in 2004

For over 43 years, Campbell has proudly offered Labels for Education® which has contributed more than $110 million in school supplies to tens of thousands of schools across the U.S. It has been one of a number of ways in which we support Americans kids and families as part of our commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen.
During the past few years, we had been assessing the impact of these programs and through this, we saw that participation in Labels for Education® declined considerably. Sadly, it was at the point where we had no choice but to make the very difficult decision to end the program.
The Labels for Education® program has officially ended, we want to thank all the schools and families that have made the program so special over the years. We are proud to have been part of your communities and appreciate the support you have shown for our brands.
