Simply Delicious Meatloaf & Gravy is simple to make because all the flavor comes from the condensed golden mushroom soup.  It doesn't need anything else, because golden mushroom soup is a blend of mushroom, tomato and beef stock, so it's rich and flavorful enough to season both the meatloaf and the gravy!  Simply Delicious Meatloaf & Gravy is a no-brainer recipe if you have a package of ground beef on hand.  5 ingredients (4 if you don't count the water) and you've got a dish that everyone will love!

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed Golden Mushroom Soup
  • 1/4 cup water


  • Step 1

    Heat the oven to 350°F.  Season the beef with salt and pepper.  Thoroughly mix the beef, bread crumbs and egg in a large bowl. Place the beef mixture into a 13x9x2-inch baking pan and shape firmly into an 8x4-inch loaf.

  • Step 2

    Bake for 30 minutes. Spread 1/2 can soup over the meatloaf.

  • Step 3

    Bake for 30 minutes or until the meatloaf is done. Let the meatloaf stand for 10 minutes before slicing.  Reserve 2 tablespoons pan drippings.

  • Step 4

    While the meatloaf is standing, heat the reserved pan drippings, the remaining soup and water in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat until hot. Serve the gravy with the meatloaf.

    My mother used to make this recipe over 50 years ago. She would use a 9 x 13 pan, form a loaf in the center, cut up potatoes and place around the meatloaf and then mix the soup with 1 cup of water and pour over the top. Bake till the potatoes are fork tender.

    This was very tasty and easy. The only changes I made were I had 2 lbs of ground beef to use, and I added 1/4 can of the soup into the mix. Served with green beans and mashed potatoes, yum! The gravy is great too. Definitely a keeper :)

    My only 2 variations are I add the soup into the mix and also add a package of Onion Soup mix as well. If I have left overs French's Onion, I also add some of that across the top. Everyone loves this meatloaf, I make it 3 lbs at a time and there are never any leftovers!!

    I needed to make something soft since my husband had to have dental work done, so I thought I'd try this. I added chopped onions and used 2lbs of meat, the family loved it. My picky 23yr old even ate it. I will be making this again but I'm going to add chopped mushrooms too.
