If you always wanted to know how to make a chicken casserole that really stands apart from the rest, the secret is a double helping of carbs and two kinds of cheese. This recipe starts with a layer of cheesy macaroni, adds tender chicken or turkey and vegetables, and tops it off with crushed seasoned stuffing in lieu of ho-hum breadcrumbs (though you can use panko to get a similar crunch if you prefer). The result is a super satisfying one-dish meal that will have everyone wanting second helpings—if they aren’t too stuffed.

cost per recipe: $4.56

  • 4 ounces uncooked elbow macaroni (about 1 cup)
  • 1 cup Pepperidge Farm® Herb Seasoned Stuffing, crushed
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup or Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups cubed cooked chicken or turkey
  • 10 ounces frozen peas and carrots, thawed

  • Tips

    • Serving Suggestion: Serve with a Caesar salad.  For dessert serve your favorite Pepperidge Farm® layer cake.
  • Step 1

Cook and drain the macaroni according to the package directions.  While the macaroni is cooking, heat the oven to 400°F.  Stir the stuffing, Parmesan cheese and butter in a medium bowl.

  • Step 2

Stir the soup, milk, Cheddar cheese and garlic powder in a 2-quart baking dish.  Stir in the cooked macaroni, chicken and peas and carrots.  Season the mixture with salt and pepper.

  • Step 3

Bake for 20 minutes or until the chicken mixture is hot.  Stir the chicken mixture.  Sprinkle with the stuffing mixture.

  • Step 4

Bake for 10 minutes or until the stuffing mixture is golden brown.  Serve hot.

We absolutely loved it. We used leftover chicken, and substituted Cream of Chicken soup.We also used frozen mixed veggies.Great on a cool day.

  • It was a starting point.

I used this as a building block. I used cream of mushroom soup instead of the brocoli soup. I added a bag of frozen mixed veggies that was peas carrots etc. And one can of corn. I chopped my chicken raw then browned it and mixed everything in but the topping. It came out great. I was able to throw the whole thing in the oven in under 20 minutes.

  • Great casserole recipe!

I added precooked, diced bacon. That made it perfect! Will make this again!

  • Love this for a quick & easy week nite meal!

I have made this many times! Most recently when the girls from work came for our annual sleep over. Have used cream of chicken or celery soup. Diced a little onion into the mix for flavor along with some Mrs. Dash Table blend seasoning. I get cooked chicken tenders from deli at grocery store. About 3) They add flavor too. My favorite stuffing is Stovetop! The girls loved it and there were 0 leftovers! All got the recipe.

I made this recipe with turkey and mixed everything together, it turned out very good. I did not care for the topping i may not have let it get brown enough but everyone else liked it. Just remember when making this to be sure to add spices to your liking. All in all will make again.
