Turn up the heat on comfort food with this Cajun Mac & Cheese. Tender macaroni is baked in a rich, creamy cheese sauce made with Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Celery Soup, smoky andouille sausage, onion, and green bell pepper. A kick of Cajun seasoning adds just the right amount of spice, while a buttery panko topping bakes up golden and crunchy. It’s a hearty, crowd-pleasing twist on classic mac & cheese that delivers big flavor in every bite.
Step 1
Cook the pasta according to the package directions. While the pasta is cooking, heat the oven to 375°F. Drain the cooked pasta and keep warm.
Step 2
Meanwhile, heat the oil in a 12-inch cast iron or oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the andouille sausage, onion and pepper and cook 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until tender. Stir in 1 teaspoon of the Cajun seasoning and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in the 2 cans of soup and the milk and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cheese and cook until the cheese is melted.
Step 3
Stir in the cooked pasta. Mix the panko, butter and remaining 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning in a small bowl. Sprinkle the panko mixture over the pasta mixture.
Step 4
Bake for 20 minutes or until hot and the panko mixture is golden brown.
